Career Fair FAQ
How can I register for the University of Pittsburgh Spring 2010 Career Fair?
- Visit www.hire.pitt.edu
- Click on Career Fair Information (left hand-side under “For Employers” heading)
- Scroll to the very bottom of the screen and click on “I have read the instructions and am now read to register for the Spring 2010 Career Fair
What day should I register to attend the fair?
- February 10 will be for Technical Majors (Engineering, Computer Science, and Information Science Majors)
- February 11 will be for Non-Technical Majors (Business, Arts, Sciences, and Health Sciences)
What are the registration fees?
- Corporate/Company-$450 for one day, $800 for both days
- Government Agency-$350 for one day, $600 for both days
- Non-profit Organization-$250 for one day, $400 for both days
Do you offer any discounts?
We are offering a $50 early bird discount for those who register prior to January 1, 2010. We are offering a $100 discount for those who register to attend the fair both days.
Will I receive a parking permit in the mail prior to the fair?
Parking permits will not be mailed prior to the Spring Career Fair. Parking will be available in the Soldiers & Sailors (indicated as “SO” on the Campus Parking Map linked below) underground parking. Take an “entrance ticket”. Validation stickers will be included in your employer packet, which you will receive upon arrival in the William Pitt Union on the day of the career fair. At the conclusion of the career fair, attach your validation stickers to your entrance ticket and proceed to the Soldiers & Sailors Garage cashier before returning to your vehicle, for an “exit ticket”.
The Soldiers & Sailors underground parking garage is located on the corner of Fifth Avenue and Bigelow Boulevard (beneath the large grassy area), with the entrance on Bigelow Boulevard.

What time does set up begin?
- Set up will begin at 8:00 AM.
- Drop off at the William Pitt Union circle driveway will be available for your convenience.
- Our staff will be available outside the William Pitt Union with dollies to help you unload your materials from 8:00-9:30 AM.
- We strongly encourage you to arrive early.
How do I get to the William Pitt Union?
Directions to the William Pitt Union from the East
By car ... from the East:
- Cars traveling from the east via the Pennsylvania Turnpike (I-76) should take Exit 57 to I-376 West
- From I-376 (the "Parkway East") take the "University of Pittsburgh/Oakland/Route 885 North" exit (Exit 3B) onto Bates Street
- Stay on Bates until it ends at Bouquet Street, approximately eight-tenths of a mile
- Turn left onto Bouquet, then right at the first light onto Forbes Avenue
- Make a left onto Bigelow Boulevard
- If you would like to drop your materials off at the William Pitt Union (WPU) before parking your vehicle, then make a left on Fifth Avenue. The entrance into the WPU is immediately to your left hand side. Our staff will be on hand to help you unload your materials from your vehicle beginning at 8:00 AM until 9:30 AM.
- If you prefer to park your vehicle and carry your own materials, then continue on Bigelow Boulevard passing Fifth Avenue. The entrance to Soldiers and Sailors parking lot will be on your left hand side.
Directions to the William Pitt Union from the West
... from the West:
- Cars traveling from the west via the Pennsylvania Turnpike (I-76) should take Exit 28 (Cranberry) and follow I-79 South to I-279 South
- Follow I-279 to the "Veteran's Bridge" exit, then exit onto I-579 South. Proceed on I-579 to the "Oakland/Monroeville" exit, and then exit onto the Boulevard of the Allies
- Continue on the Boulevard of the Allies for about 1 mile until to see the "Forbes Avenue" exit on your right. Forbes Avenue then leads right into the Pitt campus
- Make a left onto Bigelow Boulevard
- If you would like to drop your materials off at the William Pitt Union (WPU) before parking your vehicle, then make a left on Fifth Avenue. The entrance into the WPU will be immediately on your left hand side. Our staff will be on hand to help you unload your materials from your vehicle beginning at 8:00 AM until 9:30 AM.
- If you prefer to park your vehicle and carry your own materials, then continue on Bigelow Boulevard passing Fifth Avenue. The entrance to Soldiers and Sailors parking lot will be on your left hand side.

... from the North:
- Take I-79 South to I-279 South. (You exit to the left off I-79.)Follow I-279 until the "Veteran's Bridge" exit onto I-579 South
- Proceed on I-579 to the "Oakland/Monroeville" exit onto the Boulevard of the Allies
- Continue on the Boulevard of the Allies for about 1 mile until to see the "Forbes Avenue" exit on your right. Forbes Avenue then leads right into the Pitt campus

- Follow I-79 North to the exit for I-279 North
- Take I-279 through the Fort Pitt Tunnels and across the bridge to the I-376 Monroeville Exit (first exit on the right).
- Follow I-376 to the "Forbes Avenue-Oakland" exit. Forbes Avenue leads right into the Pitt campus.
- Make a left onto Bigelow Boulevard.
- If you would like to drop your materials off at the William Pitt Union (WPU) before parking your vehicle, then make a left on Fifth Avenue.
